Georgia-based triathlete completes Just Keep TRI-ING while undergoing chemotherapy, dedicating first $100,000 in proceeds to the Ironman Foundation ahead of October world championship.
Cumming, Ga., Jun 8, 2026 — James Logan, a 62-year-old Atlanta-area endurance athlete and stage IV colorectal cancer patient, launched Just Keep TRI-ING, a memoir about living with purpose through terminal illness. Logan published the book while completing 24 rounds of chemotherapy, five radiation treatments and multiple surgeries, committing the first $100,000 in proceeds to the Ironman Foundation ahead of his appearance at the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, on Oct. 10, 2026.
Diagnosed in April 2024, Logan received an initial prognosis of six months to two years. Since then, surgeons have removed 40% of his colon, 60% of his liver, his gallbladder and his rectum. Throughout treatment, he continued training for long-course triathlons and completed the book in just over a year. Just Keep TRI-ING is currently ranked No. 1 in its Amazon new-release category.
“I wrote this book to give hope to the hopeless, faith to the faithless and prove that anything is possible,” said James Logan, author of Just Keep TRI-ING. “My goal was never to make money. It was to help people and raise $100,000 for a foundation that makes the impossible feel real.”
Publicity for Good, a Nashville-based PR firm representing Logan, is pitching his story to national and regional media through June 2026, ahead of his Ironman World Championship race in Kona.
