Police veteran-turned-comedian uses charity stand-up shows to support families and youth
Atlanta, Ga., Oct. 28, 2025 — Comedian and police officer Daryll Triplett, known on stage as Officer Keep It Real and the “World’s Most Controversial Mainstream Comedian Cop ” is using laughter to build trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Triplett performs stand-up while in uniform, and proceeds from his shows to support families facing hardship through the nonprofit All Cops Ain’t Bad.
Comedy that Gives Back
Triplett began telling jokes 13 years ago after witnessing both the serious and surprisingly funny moments in law enforcement. Those experiences sparked his mission.
“I’ve always wanted to bring comedy and joy to people,” said Triplett, who has served as a police officer for 30 years. He explained that early performances evolved quickly into a charitable effort. “We would take that money, and we would use it for different charity stuff.”
His work has assisted homeless parents, provided food to children and helped struggling families cover basic needs. He and his wife later transformed the effort into a formal 501(c)(3) or a community-based nonprofit organization.
“It just sort of snowballed,” he said.
Multiple Platforms to Start Conversations
Triplett extends his mission beyond the stage with Ask A Cop, a talk show where viewers can ask real questions about policing and receive candid responses. He also operates VH2 Networks, a streaming platform broadcasting comedy and independent entertainment.
“Half of the problem is, nobody knows about us. Nobody knows Daryl Triplett,” he said. By increasing his visibility, he hopes to encourage more open dialogue nationwide.
