Quick answer
Darlene Cook, M.S., OTR/L, is a licensed clinical occupational therapist with 20 years of experience in nervous system regulation and coregulation. She founded Wild Femme, The Polarity Studio and The Polarity Podcast, created the Wild Femme Yoga Methodology and the Polarity Restoration Method, and leads the Pleasure Era movement for women in midlife and over 50. Her first book, on nervous system science, is due in 2027.
For two decades, Darlene Cook’s job has been helping people feel safe in their own bodies. As an occupational therapist, she has worked on nervous system regulation and trained professionals and school districts in how coregulation works. One lesson kept repeating itself: a body that does not feel safe cannot connect.
Then that lesson showed up in her own life, and it changed the direction of her work.

What turned Darlene Cook’s clinical work in a new direction?
Her marriage was in trouble. She and her husband tried everything they could to fix it, and nothing worked. They divorced, and Cook set out to understand what had happened. She wanted to spare other women the years of limbo and pain she had lived through.
What she found, she writes, is that “the answers were never only in our words or our efforts. They were in our nervous systems, in our bodies, and in the field between us.”
That insight connected her clinical training to a new mission. Over more than a decade of advanced study of the nervous system and the body, she also trained as a yoga and feminine embodiment teacher across multiple lineages, with additional training in sensual movement, breathwork and meditation.

Who is the Pleasure Era for?
Cook works with women near and around 50 who are standing at a crossroads in love. Some have just divorced and are wondering who they are now. Others lie awake asking whether they should stay or go. Many have spent years surviving, doing it all for everyone and putting themselves last, and they no longer know what they want.
The Pleasure Era is her name for the next chapter. She helps women gain the clarity to take their next step, and to move out of survival and over-functioning into feeling magnetic and alive in their bodies again. “From that place, everything changes,” she writes.
How does she work with couples?
Not every client is single. For couples who want to work on their relationship, Cook brings a somatic, polarity-based approach designed to draw partners back into connection. She shares two outcomes from her practice. One client, single for many years and convinced love had passed her by, married within 18 months and, two years later, is still happily in love. Another couple came to her ready to break up and are now dating each other again.
Where can women experience Wild Femme?
Cook blends clinical science with embodiment through live classes, couples work and private coaching. She hosts live Wild Femme Yoga events at studios across New York and is launching a virtual Wild Femme Yoga offering this winter. She is also the mother of six.
